Exciting Developments in Solar Power – January 9, 2015

I just read of some really interesting news on the solar power front. Illan Kramer and his colleagues at University of Toronto have invented a new technique to spray solar cells onto flexible surfaces. The light sensitive material (known as colloidal quantum dots) can be applied to all manner of odd shaped surfaces (from airplane wings to car roofs or patio furniture and even printed on flexible film) turning them into mini electrical generating stations. In spite of the metro Phoenix dip in home prices this September, we need to keep things in perspective. Median home sales prices are up 5 percent for the previous 12 month period. The average price per square foot was also up 7 percent over the same period.
